Swedish Media Publishers' Association
The Swedish Media Publishers’ Association is a trade association for Swedish newspapers as well as other media companies; there are approximately 210 member companies in all. Members include virtually all Swedish morning and evening newspapers, many free papers, news agencies, printers, newspaper distribution companies, advertising sales companies, some television and radio stations as well as book publishers.
Our main mission is to guarantee free media in a democratic society and provide the best conditions for our members to develop and prosper. To fulfil this, the association:
- acts to improve the respect for the freedom of the press and freedom of speech and to strengthen the position of responsible publishers in the media;
- lobbies to influence political decisions that affect the association’s members;
- works to strengthen the role of the newspaper in the media market by continuous analyses;
- persues competitive intelligence and initiates research regarding the media
The Association's work includes participating in the media debate, as well as formulating and putting forward questions and announcements which are of importance to the industry.
The Swedish Media Publishers' Association also offer comprehensive advice and service to its members on different matters.
