EU Policy/Legal Advisor

The European Newspaper Publishers’ Association (ENPA) has an immediate vacancy based in Brussels for an exceptional and motivated individual on a permanent basis with the title of EU Policy Advisor.

This challenging position involves:

• Monitoring and analysing the developments of European public policies (primary focus EU and Council of Europe) relevant to the publishing sector.
• Developing and maintaining contacts within European Institutions, Council of Europe and with other key policy stakeholders.
• Drafting of position papers, reports and external publications.
• Liaising with member organisations.
• Management of working groups on current ENPA policy priorities.
• Representing ENPA members at meetings with policy-makers and organizing ENPA delegation visits to policy-makers at the highest-level.

Requirements for this post:

• Completed university degree, with strong legal qualifications. Specific experience of intellectual property issues is a distinct advantage.
• Self-starter with the ability to quickly build network of contacts.
• Good knowledge of the functioning and operations of the EU institutions.
• Professional experience in the EU sector, ideally in a European association.
• Awareness of and interest in recent market developments across the newspaper and related media industries.
• Excellent command equivalent to mother-tongue level of both written and spoken English; good knowledge of French and/or another EU language.
• Willingness to travel in Europe.
• Excellent team player. Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
